I've been looking for a Kindle Quran with arabic texts that is nice and comfortable to read, and I'm very happy with this edition. The arabic texts are actually images, but they are big enough to see. You can click to enlarge it to fullscreen. The font style is simple, easy to read, and neat as well. Translation by Shakir is also easy to understand.Unlike other books such as Quran Made Easy: Complete English Translation with Inline Commentary or The Qur'an (Oxford World's Classics), this edition does not contain any insights on, for example, history of Muhammad and revelation, how Quran was compiled, the styles of the Quran, the history and tradition of tafseer, etc.---this is just a plain Quran in arabic text with translation. But I definitely recommend it if you want a nice Quran to carry with and read everywhere.
Hope to see other editions with other translations such as Pickthall and Yusuf Ali, with more knowledge as the other two books I mentioned.

The Quran Arabic Text Parallel English Translation Shakir edition by Shakir MH Shakir Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
It is a very good and authentic translation of the holy Quran. The translation type is modern and does not contain Shakespearean English which helps a great deal in understanding the message. It’s available in kindle and easy to transition from one chapter to other.
Mash Allah. Amazing texts and what wanted for my kindle app in Android device. I have bought another book and returned and bought this and happy about what I see
But I have not yet looked anything up. I only read English. The matching concordance will be indispensable. At this period of history, as at any other, good citizenship demands that we check out rumors for ourselves.
As former Christian who converted/reverted (either term works) to Islam in 1999, I find M. H. Shakir's older translation of the Quran to be the only 12er Shia Muslim translation available for kindle. Until I purchased this kindle book, I used the 3-Translation Quran sold by Mobile Reference. The three translations are by Muhammed Yusuf Ali (the best of the older Sunni Muslim translations), Muhammad Maramaduke Pickthal's translation (the first translation of the Quran I ever read, also an older Sunni Muslim translation), and this translation by M. H. Shakir. The Mobile Reference edition allows the reader to choose on of the three translations, or all three. A major problem with the Mobile Reference edition is that sometimes part of the ayah (verse) from one of the other translations would appear in the verse in Shakir's translation. That defect was a distraction. Perhaps it has been fixed since then.
I also own Dr. Muhammed Muhsin Khan's "Saudi" translation, which is used by some Salafis and Wahabis (so that I can demonstrate just how different those sects translate the Quran as compared to 12er Shia Muslim translators), Dr. Rashid Khalifa's "Final Testament" translation used by some of the modern "Quran Alone" sects, and Ahmed Hulusi's translation which is used by some less traditional Sufi Muslims. Thus, I have 6 translations of the Quran for .
As a former Evangelical/Penetecostal Holiness Christian, I'm used having several "Study Bibles" translated by Roman Catholics, Easrern Orthodox, Lutheran, Pentecostal/Charismatic, and Reformed Evangelical Christians. Those will have concordances (indexes to verses), introductions to various books of the Bible, articles on doctrine and morals, footnotes, and other helps. Unfortunately, nothing like that exists yet for a 12er Shia Muslim translation of the Quran. I would very much like to see the S. V, Mir Ahmed Ali translation with exhaustive footnotes and a pretty good index be converted into a Book. The same company that publishes Shakir's translation (though this translation is probably in the public domain by now) publishes S V Mir Ahmed Ali's translation as a physical book.
Having written the above, I still thank God that Shakir's translation is available for . There are a few typos, but picture's of the Arabic original script are included, which is a big plus for those of us who wish to recite Arabic and learn the language for understanding. If one is familiar with Shakr's translation, on can do a word search to create a topical study. I do recommend this Book for 12er Shia Muslims, other Muslims, and non-Muslims who may wish to own a translation of the Quran.
The Quran is the revealed word of ALLAH (God) to all muslims. It is a holy scripure that you can study, ponder and marvel at your entire life and still have much to discover.
Read it with a clean heart, mind, and body. You will see, God willing, the beauty that all the muslims recognize in it.
Merci beaucoup.
I'm so very happy to have found a translation that includes the actual Arabic so that I can read in Arabic (on kindle). No more burning up my iphone data.
I have looked over many e-book Qurans, and this is the best one so far in terms of what I find important, and then it is quite lacking as an ebook. As an English speaker, I would like a transliteration as well. The Arabic script is great for an English speaker, having the tashkeel, and a clearly readable script. The translation is good. The activated TOC is very necessary. However because some of the beginning chapters are over 200 verses, I will need to go through and bookmark each juz (the 30 divisions of the Quran) to be able to travel through the book in an easy manner.
What I would like to find in an ebook Quran is the arabic script, a transliteration of the arabic, and a scholarly translation, an activated TOC that includes activated divisions of juz or even hizbs, in order to go through it easily.
But for 2 dollars, it works pretty well.
